Does Honda not sell something like a million cars/year in the USA?

Honda brake bleeder screws are 10 x 1.25 mm. Pretty much on EVERY car they’ve made for decades.

You’d think you’d be able to go down to O’Reilly, Autozone, or Advance Auto Parts and buy speed bleeders in that size, right?

NOPE. Not only can’t you buy speed bleeders, you can’t even buy regular bleeders.

WTF?

Honestly, it seems that buying any parts for anything Honda is nearly impossible to do. It was a nightmare just trying to find a cabin air filter for my mom’s HR-V.

Now that we’ve got a new Ridgeline, it worries me about finding even filters for that, on top of the HR-V.

Don’t even get me started on bleeder screws and availability. Bleeders and banjo bolts. Neither of those can found in sizes that fit anything outside of GM (and sometimes Ford) at any major parts store.

It’s cause it’s one of them fancy import brands. Maybe you would have better luck with an all-american company like Desoto, or Cord.

Geez, if they’re that common, they should have been part of the Dorman “Help!” section by now!

I bought my speed bleeders online.

It’s also possible that brake bleeders are so infrequently replaced that stores don’t stock them.

My local autoparts stores had speed bleeders, but not in a size which fits my Mazda, which is just a Focus. Granted, it’s based on a Focus we never got in the states, but the motor mounts are interchangeable with the current Focus. It’s not like I’m trying to find parts for an Alfa here.

I KNOW, RIGHT?

They’re not. Even in the assortment. NOTHING.

Yep, I had to get the banjo crush washers from Amazon.

Speed bleeders are the best, especially for people like me with no friends to help with that sort of thing.

I’ve never seen them in a retail parts house, but a wholesale parts house will have them.
